Techniques and Abilities
Techniques are the primary source of damage a character can inflict. When in combat, you can use one offensive and one defensive/supportive technique per turn. Abilities are passive effects that provide minor bonuses to the user. All characters automatically possess the following techniques and abilities, unless otherwise stated:
Techniques: Melee Attack (Basic Technique | Deals damage equal to the user's STR), Ki Attack (Basic Technique | Deals damage equal to the user's FOC)
Abilities: Flight (Basic Ability | Your character is capable of flight), Ki Sense (Basic Ability | Your character is capable of sensing others' power levels)
Technique creation and execution
Unlike other Dragon Ball Roleplaying sites, DBA allows you to create your own custom techniques and abilities that can have whatever effects you desire. Techniques and abilities are divided into four different categories based on their effects. These categories are: Basic Techniques, Minor Techniques, Moderate Techniques, and Major Techniques.
When making a new technique, staff will determine which type of technique it is, based on it's mechanical and narrative effects. For example, techniques that combine two different stats for damage are usually considered Minor Techniques. Techniques that double a single stat for damage are usually Moderate Techniques, and Techniques that triple a single stat for damage are usually Major Techniques.
There is a fifth type of technique called 'Legendary Techniques' but there are very few in existence. These techniques cannot be created.
Minor Techniques cost 500 Dragon Coins to learn, Moderate Techniques require 1,000 Dragon Coins to learn, and Major Techniques require 1,500 Dragon Coins to learn. Alternatively, you may spend double the amount of zeni to learn a technique. 1,000 Zeni for minor, 2,000 Zeni for moderate, or 3,000 Zeni for major.

Basic Techniques | A technique that requires very little effort and stamina to preform. These techniques can be used in rapid succession without much difficulty. |
Minor Techniques | A technique that requires some effort to preform, and is slightly draining. While not too taxing on its own, repeated use of minor techniques can be draining. |
Moderate Techniques | A technique that requires a significant effort to preform, and is decently draining. Repeated use of moderate techniques is possible, but very draining. |
Major Techniques | A technique that requires a great deal of effort to preform, and is very draining. Repeated use of major techniques is nearly impossible, and would render the user unconscious if preformed twice in a row. |
